Flavours / about the cakes

Base ingredients


All my cakes contain British wheat flour, local free range eggs, British sugar, British butter, baking powder and salt (please note substitutes may be required due to shortages).



I offer a range of cake flavours to include:

  • Vanilla – vanilla sponge layered with vanilla bean buttercream and a raspberry reduction
  • Chocolate – chocolate cake layered with dark chocolate buttercream
  • Lemon – lemon sponge made with fresh lemon zest and layered with lemon buttercream
  • Carrot – moist sponge made with freshly grated carrots and sultanas with a hint of orange, layered with vanilla buttercream
  • Red Velvet – chocolate cake flavoured with beetroot powder to give the cake its earthy flavour and red colour (please note that red colouring is used to enhance the colour of this cake)
  • Caramel – caramel sponge made with light soft brown sugar, filled with caramel sauce and caramel buttercream
  • Coffee – light sponge cake flavoured with with strong black coffee and filled with coffee buttercream
  • Lime and Coconut – sponge cake made with fresh lime zest and desiccated coconut, filled with lime buttercream

All my sponges are infused with a flavoured syrup to suit the sponge which gives a moist sponge with added flavour.
This is not a definitive list and if you have a favourite flavour of cake which is missing from the above, do ask as it may well be possible to oblige!



Please note that I do not work from a gluten or allergen free kitchen.  While I can make cakes without these ingredients, I cannot guarantee that there will not be traces of them present.  If you have a severe food allergy you must please state this before ordering from me.
